The PRAXIS II Family and Consumer Sciences 5121 exam is for potential teachers in the middle to senior high schools. Examinees must have completed or nearly completed a bachelor’s degree program with an emphasis on family and consumer sciences.
The exam is composed of 120 multiple-choice questions. Examinees will be given two hours to finish the entire praxis II examination. This will cost the examinee $80.

Topics on this category includes historical, social, and economic foundations of the profession; philosophical and professional concerns; characteristics of family or consumer education and of occupational family and consumer sciences education; planning, implementation, and evaluation; classroom management strategies to support positive learning environment; and the appropriate criteria and standards to identify, evaluate, and improve programs and student learning. This is approximately 19% of the exam.
Career, Community and Family Connections
