The PRAXIS II Principles of Learning and Teaching Grades 5-9 5623 exam is basically a test designed to assess the knowledge and abilities of the individuals who want to be a professional educator. This exam also assesses examinee’s knowledge on topics such as human development, learning processes, instructional processes, diverse learners, educational psychology, and professional issues. This exam is only suitable to individuals who have completed or nearly completed an undergraduate program. Other exams to consider are 5622, 5621 for early childhood education, 5623 and 5624 for high school 7-12 examination
Test Content and General info Percentage
The Principles of Learning and Teaching exam has two parts; the first part is composed of 70 multiple-choice questions and the second one in composed of 4 constructed-response questions. Examinees are given 2 hours to finish the entire exam. This praxis II exam contains 5 categories: students as learners; instructional process; assessment; professional development, leadership and community; and analysis of instructional scenarios which is the essay part of the exam. There are some questions in the exam that will not count toward your score.
Examinees must prepare $90 for the examination fee.

Furthermore, it may also include topics on variables that affect students’ learning, implications of legislation, and approaches of accommodating students with exceptionalities in education process, the major contributions of foundational behavioral theorists, principles of classroom management, and strategies to develop students’ self-esteem.
